Immaculata University men's basketball team defeated Chestnut Hill College 87-78, on Monday, November 19, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was the season opener for the Mighty Macs.
Junior Kyle Finklea led all scorers with 24 points, while senior Dan Lepone recorded 22 points on 8-11 from the floor. Senior Rob Jones collected a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Junior Julius Lopez came off the bench and added 13 points, while junior Sean Fordham amassed seven points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Kevin Whaley registered 15 points to pace the Griffins (0-2), while L.B. Rebstock and Mike Acquaviva totaled 12 points a piece.
Immaculata (1-0) returns to action on Thursday, November 29, when they travel to face Centenary College. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
