Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski collected a double-double with game-high 25 points as the Immaculata University women's basketball team defeated Eastern University 71-55, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, January 18, St. David's, PA.
Sophomore Stephanie Stripe registered 14 points, including 4-6 from beyond the arc, while sophomore Kasey Hicks established a new school record with 16 assists. She also added nine rebounds. Junior Nina Cammarano collected 12 points, while senior Meg Legere amassed six points. Freshman Shana Kehoe came off the bench and added six points. Legere has now totaled 1,061 career points.
Trailing 20-19 with 9:23 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs outscored the Eagles 22-13 over the last 9:00 to take a 42-32 lead into halftime. Eastern scored the first basket of the second half to pull within seven, 42-35, but Immaculata extended its lead to a game-high 71-46 with 3:59 remaining in the second half.
Raya Shores paced the Eagles (1-12, 0-6 PAC) with 21 points.
The Mighty Macs (7-7, 3-3 PAC) return to action on Saturday, January 20, when they host Marywood University. Tip-off is set for 1 pm.
