Immaculata University men's basketball team dropped a 61-56 decision to Gwynedd-Mercy College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, December 7, in Alumnae Hall.
Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded a team-high 16 points, while sophomore Kyle Finklea registered 12. Junior Robert Jones pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds, while senior Kris Behm and sophomore Dan Lepone recorded six points each. Jones also added seven points.
The Mighty Macs held a 47-42 lead with 9:40 left in the second half, but the Griffins used a 12-3 run to take a 54-50 lead with 6:60 left in the final stanza. Immaculata was able to pull within one, 54-53, with 3:48 remaining, but Gwynedd-Mercy held on for the 61-56 victory.
Haven Wroten paced the Griffins (4-2, 3-1 PAC) with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Chris DelBrocco totaled 15 points.
The Mighty Macs (1-7, 1-2 PAC) return to action in the New Year when they face DeSales University in the first round of the DeSales Invitational on Friday, January 5. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
