Whalen made two quality starts in the early going with a 3.00 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 12 innings of work thus far.  He threw a complete game and surrendered just one seventh inning run while striking out six and scattering six hits in a hard-luck 1-0 defeat to Arcadia.  He bounced back with five solid innings and nine strikeouts against Massachusetts Maritime Academy in an 8-5 victory on Saturday.

For his efforts, he was named to the CSAC Weekly Honor Roll for the second time in his career.
