Nelson Torres from the men's basketball team was honored as the Mighty Mac of the Week on Monday, January 9. Torres also claimed weekly honor roll accolades from the Colonial States Athletic Conference on Monday.

In Immaculata's three games last week, Torres averaged 19.0 points and 7.3 rebounds, while shooting .622 from the floor.

Torres was named to the Basinger Memorial Tournament All-Tournament Team, lifting Immaculata to the consolation game victory over Penn State Abington with a game-winning shot with less than 20 seconds remaining to cap off a 24-point game. In the Mighty Macs' two tournament games, Torres averaged 17.5 points and 8.5 boards. In the Mighty Macs' lone CSAC game of the week, Torres finished with 22 points, going 7-for-14 from the floor, 2-for-3 from behind the arc, and 6-for-6 from the foul line, in a narrow 87-81 loss to conference leader Cabrini.
