WHAT TO KNOW

• The Immaculata University field hockey team (1-0) will look to continue its strong start to the 2026 season when the Mighty Macs travel to King's College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon.
• Immaculata dramatically opened the 2026 campaign on Wednesday evening, rallying for a 2-1 double-overtime victory over FDU-Florham at Draper Walsh Stadium.
• King's College enters Saturday's matchup at 1-0 after opening its season with a 2-0 victory over Cedar Crest on Wednesday evening at McCarthy Stadium.

• Saturday's contest marks the 11^th meeting between the Mighty Macs and Monarchs.
• The teams have split the series, with each winning five times.

• The Mighty Macs will look to carry the momentum from Wednesday's double-overtime victory into Saturday's road matchup while facing a King's team that has already opened the season with a shutout victory on its home turf.
• The Mighty Macs held a 16-10 advantage in shots and finished with nine penalty corners in Wednesday's win over FDU-Florham.
• Sophomore forward Morgan Barnes provided Immaculata's first goal of the season, scoring in the first quarter to give the Mighty Macs an early 1-0 advantage.
• Junior forward Alexis Andrada delivered the game-winning goal 1:15 into double overtime, deflecting a pass from sophomore defender Maria Freeman past the FDU-Florham goalkeeper. The goal marked the eighth game-winning goal of Andrada's career.
• Freeman anchored the Immaculata backline that limited FDU-Florham to just six shots on goal.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Schrack made five saves in the season opener to earn her first victory of 2026.
• Immaculata will look for additional offensive support from senior midfielder Alexa Marczak (who had two shots on goal on Wednesday), senior forward Maria Berenato, and junior midfielder Gigi Fox.
• Senior midfielder Kayla Ledbetter and sophomore midfielder Taylor Eagan will play important roles on both ends of the field for Immaculata.

 
SCOUTING KING'S

• King's defeated Cedar Crest 2-0 in their season opener at McCarthy Stadium on Wednesday evening.
• The Monarchs were picked ninth in the 2026 MAC Freedom Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• King's returns a group of experienced players while also welcoming a large incoming class, giving the Monarchs added depth throughout the lineup.
• Senior forward Melanie Tlatenchi, senior midfielder Megan Harry, senior forward Shaylee Heffron, junior forward Ella Hughes, and junior forward Abbey Grulke are among the returning players listed on the King's 2026 roster. The Monarchs also feature senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Samuel and freshman goalkeeper Tierney Hogan.
• First-year forward Gwen Erb scored her first collegiate goal for the Monarchs on Wednesday, and senior midfielder Davina Krappa scored the Monarchs' second goal on a penalty stroke.
• First-year goalkeeper Tierney Hogan earned the shutout, making four saves.

UP NEXT
Following Saturday's road contest, Immaculata will return home to Draper Walsh Stadium on Wednesday, September 9, to host Eastern University at 4 p.m.
 
The Mighty Macs will then host Marywood University on Saturday, September 12, at noon before beginning a stretch of four consecutive road contests later in September.
