IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata women's soccer defeated the DeSales University Bulldogs on Wednesday 2-0 for their fifth-consecutive win. It was also Immaculata's first home win of 2026.
The Mighty Macs are 5-2 for the season. Their first AEC match will be on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Centenary (N.J.).
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST DESALES
- The Bulldogs attempted a shot not even a minute in, but Devan Cosgrove saved it. Although Immaculata and DeSales each had multiple scoring opportunities, both defenses stayed strong to prevent anything from getting past them. In the 41st minute, a DeSales free kick nearly went over Cosgrove's head for a goal. However, she swatted the ball as it grazed the top of the net. Immaculata and DeSales were scoreless through 45 minutes.
- Addi Husenica checked in at goal in the second half. After the two sides traded shots, Gracie Repici beat her defender down the sideline and converted a goal in the 64th minute. Immaculata's defense kept DeSales' offense in check, which allowed Flora Hernandez to cash in on a penalty kick to seal the evening. The Bulldogs did not make a true threat to the deficit, as Immaculata won 2-0.

- Immaculata only had eight fouls, compared to 13 from DeSales.
