Field Hockey Falls at Delaware Valley, 2-0

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Immaculata University field hockey fell 2-0 to Delaware Valley University on Wednesday afternoon in Doylestown.
 
The Mighty Macs fall to 2-5 on the season, while Delaware Valley improves to 4-3.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST DELAWARE VALLEY
  • Immaculata and Delaware Valley played to a scoreless tie through the opening 30 minutes. The Mighty Macs recorded one shot in the first half, while junior goalkeeper Mackenzie Schrack made one save to keep the Aggies off the scoreboard.
  • Delaware Valley broke through early in the third quarter. Following a penalty corner, Lily Henicheck scored at 35:45 to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead.
  • Delaware Valley added its second goal just 35 seconds into the fourth quarter when Caylen Taylor scored, extending the lead to 2-0.
  • The Mighty Macs generated their best offensive opportunities late in the fourth quarter. Immaculata earned back-to-back penalty corners, both taken by Maria Berenato, and Morgan Barnes put two shots toward the cage. Her first was saved by Delaware Valley goalkeeper Shaelynn Castanaga-Acerra at 58:19, while her second was blocked just eight seconds later.
  • Schrack played all 60 minutes for Immaculata and finished with three saves.
