ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Immaculata University field hockey team battled Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon, but the Dutchmen used a five-goal first half to pull away for a 5-0 victory over the Mighty Macs at Arnold Field.
With the setback, Immaculata falls to 2-4 on the season, while Lebanon Valley improves to 4-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST LEBANON VALLEY
- Lebanon Valley opened the scoring just 4:21 into the contest when Claire Weidenhammer found the back of the cage to give the Dutchmen an early 1-0 advantage.
- Lebanon Valley doubled its lead just 1:20 later when Jillian Tait scored at 5:41.
- The Dutchmen added another goal at 10:27 when Abby Rodenberger converted a feed from Weidenhammer to make the score 3-0.
- Mackenzie Schrack kept the Mighty Macs within striking distance throughout the remainder of the opening quarter, making two additional saves before the end of the period.
- Lebanon Valley added a pair of goals in the second quarter to carry a 5-0 lead into the halftime break.
- Immaculata turned in a stronger defensive effort after halftime, holding Lebanon Valley scoreless throughout the third and fourth quarters.
- The Mighty Macs generated their first penalty corner opportunities of the afternoon in the third quarter, earning three corners and recording a shot on goal from Alexis Andrada that was turned aside by Lebanon Valley goalkeeper Ella Weidenhammer.
- Immaculata continued to pressure offensively in the fourth quarter, recording three shots and earning two more penalty corners. Andrada and Kayla Ledbetter each put shots on goal, but Weidenhammer made three saves in the final quarter to preserve the shutout.

- Alexis Andrada led the Mighty Macs with two shots, both of which were on goal.
- Kayla Ledbetter recorded two shots, including one shot on goal.
- Mackenzie Schrack made eight saves in 30 minutes of action for Immaculata.

- The Mighty Macs held Lebanon Valley scoreless over the final two quarters after the Dutchmen scored all five of their goals during the opening 30 minutes.
