IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata University field hockey team battled Bryn Mawr College through two scoreless periods on Wednesday evening before the Owls broke through in the second half to win 6-0 at Draper Walsh Stadium.
With the loss, Immaculata falls to 2-3, while Bryn Mawr improves to 4-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST BRYN MAWR
- Immaculata kept Bryn Mawr off the scoreboard through the opening 30 minutes, with goalkeeper Mackenzie Schrack making eight saves during the first half to keep the Mighty Macs within striking distance. Bryn Mawr finished the opening half with a 12-0 advantage in shots.
- The Owls opened the scoring just over two minutes into the third quarter when Carrie Povich scored at 32:02. Bryn Mawr added goals from Leya Patel at 34:01 and Julia Ward at 35:51 to take a 3-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- Bryn Mawr added three more goals in the fourth quarter, with Amanda Herrold scoring at 46:02, Mary Stronach finding the cage at 53:06, and Ward completing her second goal of the game at 57:22.
- Schrack finished the night with 12 saves over 45 minutes of action, while Ella Miller made two saves during the fourth quarter. Bryn Mawr had a 5-0 advantage in penalty corners.
