IMMACULATA, Pa. – Although Immaculata women's volleyball was within striking distance in each set on Tuesday against the Arcadia University Knights, the visitors won the match 3-0.

Mary Kirchner's daughter, Isabel, is an assistant coach for Arcadia.
The Mighty Macs are 2-7 for the season. Their first AEC match will be on Saturday, Oct. 17 versus Saint Elizabeth.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
- The Mighty Macs took control in the initial rallies before Arcadia tied the score at 6-6. Adriana Ventura capped off a run with an ace to bring Immaculata to within a point. Despite being tied at 21, the Knights scored four of the last five to claim set one 25-22.
- The Knights grabbed seven of the opening eight points of set two. A few Mel Mann kills helped the Mighty Macs climb back into the frame. Immaculata took advantage of a couple of Arcadia errors to trim the deficit, but the visitors got the last two points for a 25-18 win.
- A 6-0 outburst in the final set put the Mighty Macs up 8-4. A Madi Kyle ace was in the middle of it. Even with a six-point lead, the Knights countered with a 5-0 push to trail by one. Six straight points from the Knights swung momentum to them from being down three to leading by three. Arcadia saw the last two points and won the set 25-21, and the match 3-0.
