BALTIMORE, Md. – Immaculata men's soccer saw a solid match in the first half against the Goucher College Gophers on Saturday, but a late second half goal sealed the afternoon.
The Mighty Macs are 0-4 for the season. Their first AEC match will be on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Centenary (N.J.).
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST GOUCHER
- The Mighty Macs were aggressive right away, as an Ethan Swearingen shot was saved not even a minute in. Immaculata tested Goucher's goalie early and often before converting a Milan Kosiba penalty kick to break the tie. Goucher got going offensively with a few consecutive corner kicks, but Matteo Paolillo kept everything in front of the net. In the 32nd minute, the Gophers knotted the score following another corner kick. The Mighty Macs and Gophers were tied 1-1 through 45 minutes.
- Contrary to the first half, Goucher set the tone offensively to start the second half. However, the Gophers took the lead on an Immaculata own goal. Although the Mighty Macs had a few scoring opportunities around the 81st minute, none were successful. Goucher won 2-1.

- Kosiba scored Immaculata's lone goal, unassisted.
- Kosiba tied Michael Prall in shot attempts (3).
- Paolillo saved five shots in 90 minutes in goal.
