IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata University men's soccer team opened its 2026 season on Tuesday afternoon, falling to visiting Haverford College, 3-0, at Draper Walsh Stadium.
The Mighty Macs (0-1-0) battled throughout the contest, but the Fords (1-0-0) used a strong offensive performance to earn the season-opening victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HAVERFORD
- Haverford got on the scoreboard in the 12th minute when Carter Kroenke scored on an assist by Charles Sharp to give the Fords a 1-0 advantage.
- The Fords maintained the lead into halftime despite several opportunities from both sides. Haverford finished the opening 45 minutes with a 16-3 advantage in shots, while Immaculata earned five corner kicks to Haverford's seven.
- Immaculata goalkeeper Luca Greppellini kept the Mighty Macs within striking distance, making four saves during the opening half.
- Haverford extended its lead early in the second half when Jonathan D'Amour converted a penalty kick at the 59:53 mark to make it a 2-0 contest.
- The Fords added their third goal in the 75th minute when Connor Gustafson scored on a header, giving Haverford a 3-0 advantage.
- Greppellini continued to keep the Mighty Macs in the contest, finishing the afternoon with six saves on 10 Haverford shots on goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Immaculata was limited to four shots on the afternoon.
- Milan Kosiba recorded a team-high two shots, while Colin Diehl and Brady Derkosh each added one.
- Derkosh's second-half attempt in the 53rd minute was the Mighty Macs' lone shot on target.
- Haverford finished the match with a 31-4 advantage in shots and a 16-5 edge in corner kicks.
