Immaculata Women’s Flag Football Opens 2026 Season with Two Wins

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's flag football team impressively opened its 2026 campaign on Saturday afternoon, sweeping a season-opening tri-match with victories over Marymount University (12-6) and Holy Family University (38-0) at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Congratulations to Immaculata Head Coach Bill Coddington for earning his first collegiate win in his debut as Immaculata's Head Coach.
 
With the pair of wins, Immaculata begins the season 2-0 in Atlantic East Conference play, while displaying strong play on both sides of the ball throughout the afternoon. Marymount, which suffered its first AEC loss in program history, earned the split defeating Holy Family 14-0 in today's second game, and Holy Family falls to 0-2 in AEC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYMOUNT
  • Marymount struck first with an eight-yard touchdown run to take an early 6-0 lead.
  • The Mighty Macs responded in the second half, behind the arm of quarterback Devan Cosgrove
  • Cosgrove evened the score in the third quarter when she connected with Jaclyn Molinini on a 58-yard touchdown pass.
  • Immaculata completed the comeback in the fourth quarter as Cosgrove found Eliana Szatkowski for a seven-yard touchdown reception that proved to be the game-winner.
  • The Immaculata defense held a late drive by the Saints, forcing an incomplete pass in the end zone on the game's final play.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Cosgrove finished the opener 9-for-15 through the air for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Taylor Eagan led the receiving corps with four receptions for 61 yards.
  • Szatkowski added three catches for 45 yards.
  • Molinini delivered the game-tying score.
  • Frankie Brunkel paced the Mighty Macs with nine tackles and an interception.
  • Khaliyah Gaines added two sacks.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HOLY FAMILY
  • Immaculata set the tone early with an eight-play, 66-yard drive to open the game. Quarterback Devan Cosgrove capped the possession with a one-yard rushing touchdown to give the Mighty Macs an early 6-0 advantage.
  • The Mighty Mac defense controlled the remainder of the first half, forcing turnovers that quickly turned into points. In the second quarter, Jaclyn Molinini intercepted a Holy Family pass and returned it 17 yards to set up an Immaculata scoring opportunity. Two plays later, Cosgrove found Molinini for a seven-yard touchdown reception to extend the lead.
  • On Holy Family's next possession, the defense struck again. Khaliyah Gaines stepped in front of a pass and returned the interception 41 yards for a touchdown, pushing the Immaculata lead to 19-0.
  • Immaculata added another score later in the quarter when Cosgrove connected with Eliana Szatkowski for a six-yard touchdown pass with two minutes remaining in the half, giving the Mighty Macs a 25-0 halftime advantage.
  • The defense continued its impressive performance in the second half. Natalie Dodd recorded another interception early in the third quarter, helping the Mighty Macs maintain control of the contest.
  • Cosgrove added her second rushing touchdown of the game on a five-yard run in the third quarter, extending the lead to 31-0. Immaculata later added a final score in the fourth quarter to close out the 38-0 victory.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Cosgrove led the Immaculata offense both through the air and on the ground, completing 6-of-9 passes for 62 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing eight times for 22 yards and two scores.
  • Caia Harris paced the rushing attack with 37 yards on five carries, while Jaclyn Molinini added 27 rushing yards.
  • Szatkowski led all receivers with four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown.
  • Tiara Lawler also hauled in a touchdown reception, while Molinini added a touchdown catch.
  • Molinini recorded two interceptions and added 25 return yards.
  • Gaines returned her interception 41 yards for a touchdown.
  • Natalie Dodd added another takeaway while also finishing with five tackles and a sack.
  • Immaculata limited Holy Family to just 77 total yards of offense and 49 passing yards while recording an interception in each of the first three quarters.
