CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Immaculata men's volleyball fell in a 3-0 sweep at the hands of the Wilson College Phoenixes on Monday.
The Mighty Macs are 6-9 for the season. They are 5-3 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WILSON
- The Mighty Macs had a 4-2 lead early before a Wilson 5-0 run put them ahead. Immaculata's offense kept them in the set, especially with a few Nate Bailey kills and an ace. Although the Mighty Macs pulled to within six, a Phoenixes kill gave them a 25-18 win.
- Alex Corsones recorded his lone kill of the night to start the second set. Both teams traded errors, but Wilson maintained their advantage. Despite three Bailey kills in Immaculata's final four points of the second frame, Wilson scored the last two for the 25-14 victory.
- Wilson jumped out to a 7-1 lead in set three, in which the one point was on a Jordan Brown kill. Immaculata utilized three consecutive Wilson errors to cut the deficit to four. The Mighty Macs would get to three after a 7-1 push. Despite a good attempt at a comeback, the Phoenixes secured the sweep with a 25-20 set three win.
