HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST AURORA
  • Ryan Gorman opened the day with a goal on a Nick Senatore assist. Immaculata's defense made a few plays, but Aurora answered with two scores of their own. Matthew Ludlow stood tall in the cage to end the quarter, as the Spartans led 2-1.
  • The second quarter was a high-flying affair with four goals from each side. Jason Smaron and Senatore got past the goalie to temporarily take the lead, the latter of which was a man-up situation. But, the Spartans nailed three goals to go up by two. The Mighty Macs outscored the Spartans 2-1 in the latter part of the quarter. With nine seconds left, Carnell Lofton Jr. won the face-off, picked up the ground ball, and, despite firing a shot, it was saved at the buzzer. Aurora led 6-5 going into the locker room.
  • A Spartans goal was countered by one from Gorman with under 12 minutes. It was the third time in the game that Gorman scored from Senatore. With the score at 9-6 Aurora, Senatore snuck a shot in the net at 0:09 left to make it 9-7 after three.
  • The fourth quarter was all Immaculata, as the Mighty Macs went on a 6-1 run. Immaculata sent six straight goals into the goal, with Jude Azzarano, Senatore, Smaron, and Gorman all chipping in. Although Aurora stopped the run with one last goal, the outcome was decided. Immaculata won 13-10.
