Men's Basketball Unable to Overcome Saint Elizabeth Eagles

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Immaculata men's basketball led at halftime by a slim one-point margin, but they fell to the Saint Elizabeth University Eagles on Wednesday 82-76.

The Mighty Macs are 4-16 for the season. They are 3-6 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST SAINT ELIZABETH
  • Mandon Seapoe got the first Immaculata bucket of the night on a layup. Despite the Eagles maintaining their lead, the Mighty Macs did not trail too far behind. The game eventually was tied at 21 before Saint Elizabeth used a 7-0 run. Jayden Williams scored 15 of his 16 points in just the first half. With under a minute, a quick 5-0 Mighty Macs push provided them with a one-point advantage. The Mighty Macs were up 40-39 after 20 minutes.
  • Early in the second half, each team tried to wrestle the lead away from the other. Two Christian Chambers triples and a Duce Jackson layup allowed Immaculata to lead 56-51. An 11-2 Saint Elizabeth run, however, erased their deficit. The Eagles' offense heated up in the final five minutes, but Immaculata pulled to within three. A costly turnover would be the difference maker, as a Saint Elizabeth free throw put them up two scores. The home team won 82-76.
