IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata men's basketball stormed back with a 17-2 run in the last 1:10 on Monday against the McDaniel College Green Terror, but the visitors won 78-70.
The Mighty Macs are 1-10 for the season. Their first AEC game will be on Wednesday, Jan. 7 versus Neumann.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST McDANIEL
- A back-and-forth battle in the early stages led to a Jalen Flowers triple to tie the score at 4-4. The Mighty Macs slowly erased the Green Terror's lead with a 10-2 push, capped off by a Mandon Seapoe three-pointer. Although McDaniel would grab the advantage back, Immaculata earned multiple trips to the foul line. McDaniel was up 39-33 going into the locker room.
- The two teams traded buckets in quick succession to open the second half. Immaculata kept the deficit within single digits, which included a 7-0 run to cut the score to 48-44. Despite this, the Green Terror saw shots in the paint to cushion their lead. A 13-3 outburst essentially sealed the game for the visitors. However, the Mighty Macs did not give up. Immaculata would score 17 of the last 19 points in the final 70 seconds to trim down the 23-point deficit. The final score was 78-70 McDaniel.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Dylan Crews had a team-high 18 points.
- Jayden Williams saw a team-best three steals, and he was part of a five-way tie for first with two assists each.
- Immaculata outscored McDaniel in second-chance points, 16-11.
