ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata men's basketball suffered a setback on Wednesday evening, falling to the Neumann University Knights 94-78 in their first Atlantic East Conference game of the season.
The Mighty Macs are 1-11 for the season. They are 0-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEUMANN
- A Knights bucket to start the game was immediately answered by a Duce Jackson triple. Immaculata set the pace early, taking a 12-5 lead before the home team countered. Both teams had a scoreless stretch of almost three minutes, but a Christian Chambers three-pointer put the Mighty Macs' advantage at 10. However, a 15-2 run brought the Knights back into the game. Neumann held a slim 34-32 lead at the half.
- Immaculata and Neumann traded quick buckets in the second half, as a Dylan Crews layup placed them back up by a point. Neither team let the other get too far ahead. A 10-3 push returned the momentum to the Knights, which they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game. Even with this, Immaculata kept the deficit within single digits until about 4:30 left. Neumann won 94-78.
