Men's Basketball Suffers Road Heartbreaker to Centenary Cyclones

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Immaculata men's basketball nearly had the win on Saturday versus the Centenary University Cyclones, but the home team came out on top 80-76.

The Mighty Macs are 2-13 for the season. They are 1-3 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CENTENARY (N.J.)
  • Down by one point early on, Immaculata used an 8-0 push to go up 16-9. The push was capped off by a Kevin Telesford triple. The Mighty Macs' outside shooting was on point in the first half, as they extended their lead to as much as 18. With opportunities in the paint, Centenary climbed their way back into the game. Jalen Flowers scored the final four points of the half for either side. Immaculata had a 44-36 advantage at the break.
  • The Cyclones tied the score at 46 with under 17 minutes left in the second half. Dylan Crews elevated the Mighty Macs' offense, scoring 10 straight points by himself. The two sides went back and forth trading the lead. However, a Centenary three-pointer at 8:21 put the Cyclones in front for good. Despite Immaculata only being down 77-76 near the end of regulation, a costly and-one situation was the dagger. Centenary was victorious 80-76.

  • Immaculata outscored Centenary in bench points 35-3.
