GLENSIDE, Pa. – Immaculata men's soccer kept their Saturday match against the Arcadia University Knights scoreless in the first half, but an Arcadia barrage in the second gave the home team a 4-0 win.
The Mighty Macs are 1-7 for the season. Their first AEC match will be on Saturday, Oct. 4 versus Centenary (N.J.).
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
- Jameson Kennedy attempted the first shot of the day for the Mighty Macs, despite it being saved by the Knights. Multiple Arcadia corner kicks and a shot were all unsuccessful, thanks to Immaculata's defense. The Mighty Macs stood tall throughout the half to keep Arcadia out of the net. The first 45 minutes came to a close with a scoreless draw.
- Not even five minutes into the second half, the Knights broke through for their initial score of the afternoon. Demier Tossie was issued a yellow card moments later. Although both sides would exchange shots, it was not until the 79th minute where the Knights began to pull away. Three goals in the waning minutes sealed the match. Luca Greppellini made a save in the 90th minute, but the final score was 4-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Immaculata had eight shot attempts for the day.
- Both teams were relatively even in fouls, with Arcadia getting called for 11 to Immaculata's 16.
- Greppellini recorded three saves in net, going the full 90 minutes.
