Women's Volleyball Downs Cedar Crest Falcons in Sweep

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata women's volleyball was firing away on Wednesday, defeating the Cedar Crest College Falcons 3-0.

The Mighty Macs are 3-5 for the season. Their first AEC game will be on Saturday, Oct. 11 versus Saint Elizabeth.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CEDAR CREST
  • The Mighty Macs' offense was aggressive from the start. They scored 12 of the first 14 points, which included an 8-0 opening run. Both teams traded points for multiple rallies before Immaculata utilized a 7-1 run to pull away. One last kill from Angelica Santini Bulerin gave the Mighty Macs a 25-11 win.
  • Santini Bulerin picked up where she left off, as the second set began. Her inaugural two serves of the set were aces. A 7-0 run midway through and a 4-0 run at the conclusion of the set separated the Mighty Macs and Falcons. Immaculata cemented a 25-12 victory.
  • The final set started back-and-forth. But, a Cedar Crest service error gave the ball back to Immaculata, which sparked a quick 4-0 home team push. Even though the Falcons would tie the set at 10, kills from Mia Esposito, Calissa Araujo, and Emma Hodgson returned the advantage to the Mighty Macs. A 7-0 run was the deciding factor. The Mighty Macs grabbed the set 25-17. Immaculata swept Cedar Crest 3-0.
