WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Immaculata University women's soccer team dropped a close contest on the road Wednesday evening, falling 3-2 to King's College after the Monarchs netted a pair of second-half goals to complete the comeback.
Gracie Repici led the Mighty Macs with a goal and an assist, while
Natalie D'Alfonso and
Lily McGee each recorded their first collegiate points in the loss.
With the loss Immacualta falls to 1-4-1 overall, while King's improves to 3-5-1 overall with the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED VS KING'S COLLEGE
- King's opened the scoring in the 21st minute as Isabella Pacia scored to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Immaculata responded quickly in the 24th minute as Lily McGee chased down a loose ball and found Gracie Repici, who slotted home the equalizer with her left foot to make it 1-1.
- Immaculata grabbed the lead in the 33rd minute after a quick throw-in led to Repici finding Natalie D'Alfonso, who scored her first collegiate goal with a left-footed finish.
- Immaculata led 2-1 at the half, with both teams recording 10 shots. The Macs also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
- Pacia struck again for King's, leveling the match at 2-2 with her second goal of the game in the 52nd minute.
- Maya Parker netted the eventual game-winner for King's in the 78th minute, capping off a strong second half for the Monarchs.
- King's outshot Immaculata 10-3 in the second half and held on for the 3-2 win.
