IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata men's soccer kept their match against the Susquehanna University River Hawks a scoreless draw at the half, but two second-half goals on Saturday gave the River Hawks a 2-0 victory.
The Mighty Macs are 1-6 for the season. Their first AEC game will be on Saturday, Oct. 4 versus Centenary (N.J.).
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST SUSQUEHANNA
- Carlos Garcia attempted the first shot of the day for either side, despite the fact it was saved. The Mighty Macs' defense forced multiple Susquehanna shots to be off-target. A yellow card was assessed to the visitors in the 20th minute. Even with two River Hawks offsides penalties almost within two minutes of one another, the Mighty Macs could not capitalize on the errors. Luca Greppellini recorded a save as the half ended in a scoreless tie.
- Starting in the 57th minute, Susquehanna saw four missed shots before a header got past Greppellini for the match's first score. The Mighty Macs saw a few chances to tie, with Jonathan Olaleye's shot nearly sinking in. Greppellini denied back-to-back attempts in the 81st minute, but Susquehanna hit the dagger at 88:01. The River Hawks won 2-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kyle Coleman and Demier Tossie tied for the team-high of two shot attempts each. Both of Tossie's were on goal.
- The Mighty Macs nearly had half the amount of fouls as the River Hawks had, 15-8.
- Greppellini, going the full 90 minutes in net, saw five saves.

The Mighty Macs start a three-match road trip next Saturday, Sept. 27. They will take on the Arcadia University Knights for a 12 p.m. kickoff.
