Women's Flag Football Earns Second AEC Win Downing Neumann, 19-7

ASTON, Pa.- The Immaculata women's flag football team was back in action on Wednesday night when they visited Neumann University for an Atlantic East Conference single game. Immaculata earned their second AEC victory on Wednesday winning 19-7. Sydney Butcher threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for a third touchdown for the Mighty Macs. Abigail Lentowski and Eliana Szatkowski caught touchdown passes, and each had an interception on defense for Immaculata.
 
With the win Immaculata improves to 2-5 in Atlantic East Conference play, while Neumann falls to 3-2 in Atlantic East Conference play.
 
How it Happened
  • With 1:45 remaining in the first quarter, Eliana Szatkowski intercepted a pass at the Neumann 38 and returned it 13-yards to the Neumann 25.
  • Sydney Butcher completed a third down pass to Natalie Dodd to move the ball to the NU21. Butcher then completed a pass to Abigail Lentowski for at 21-yard touchdown at 11:00 of the second quarter. The point after pass attempt was incomplete as Immaculata took a 6-0 lead.
  • In the third quarter, Immaculata stopped Neumann's opening drive forcing a punt, Immaculata took possession at their own 38 with 8:03 remaining in the quarter.
  • Samantha Seidito opened the drive with a five-yard run. Butcher then completed a 17-yard pass to Tiara Lawler to move the ball to the NU21. Then Natalie Dodd had a reception for 16 yards to move the ball the NU5. Sydney Butcher then scored Immaculata's second touchdown on a five-yard run. Immaculata converted the point after on a pass to increase their lead to 13-0.
  • On their next possession, Neumann would get on the board with a touchdown on a 43-yard pass from Santorello to Maisch and convert the point after on a run to make the score 13-7 Immaculata.
  • Immaculata got the ball back to start the fourth quarter. Sydney Butcher began the drive with a 10-yard run. Butcher completed a pass to Eliana Szatkowski for 12 yards, and five-yard third down pass to Abigail Lentowski for a first down and goal to go. After completing a pair of passes to Lentowski. Butcher hit Eliana Szatkowski on fourth and goal for a 10-yard touchdown reception. The point after pass attempt failed as Immaculata took increased their lead to 19-7.
  • On Neumann's final drive, Tiara Lawler, Theresa Jappah, and Rory Watson all had tackles as Immaculata closed out the victory.

  • Sydney Butcher was 13-18 passing for 126 yards, and two touchdowns. She had six rushes for 35 yards, and a touchdown.
  • Natalie Dodd was 1-2 passing for eight yards. Dodd had three receptions for 33 yards.
  • Abigail Lentowski had five receptions for 46 yards and one touchdown. On defense she had three tackles, one sack, and one interception.
  • Eliana Szatkowski had four receptions for 35 yards and one touchdown. On defense she had two pass breakups and an interception.

  • Samantha Seidito had five rushes for 17 yards. She had one tackle on defense, and she had two punts for 34 total yards, and pined one inside the 20-yard line.

  • Rory Watson had three tackles on defense.
  • Lauren Gartman had one pass break up on defense.
  • Ashanti Leon had one reception for eight yards.
