IMMACULATA, Pa.- Senior
Joe Martell broke his own IU single match program record handing out 42 assists as Immaculata defeated Cairn University 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23) on Tuesday evening at Alumnae Hall.
Josh McGurl led the Mighty Macs with 17 kills, and
Noah Zunski had 13 kills.

With the win Immaculata improves to 3-1 on the season. With the loss Cairn falls to 0-2 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set 1: With the score tied at 5-5, Michael Prall served six consecutive points that included three consecutive kills by Noah Zunski, and kills by Joe Martell, and Josh McGurl as Immaculata took an 11-5 lead. Cairn used a four-point run to close the Immaculata lead. Joe Martell served consecutive points as Immaculata extended their lead to 16-12. The teams would exchange point through the set. Noah Zunski got a kill to put Immaculata up 22-16. Immaculata would win the set on a kill by Josh McGurl 25-19.
- Set 2: Cairn would take an early 5-2 lead in the second set. Immaculata would get a side out to pull with in one point trailing 15-14. Michael Prall served three straight points that included a Noah Zunski kill as Immaculata took a 17-15 lead. Cairn would use a three-point run to take a 20-19 lead. After a side out, Joe Martell served four consecutive aces as Immaculata led 24-20. Cairn scored two straight points, before Immaculata closed out the set on Nate Bailey kill winning 25-22.
- Set 3: In the third set, Noah Zunski served consecutive aces as Immaculata took an 8-7 lead. Cairn would used a four-point run, and a pair of three-point runs on their way to extending the match to a fourth set winning 25-21.
- Set 4: Cairn jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead in the fourth set. Noah Zunski served four consecutive points that included a service ace, and a pair of Josh McGurl kills as Immaculata took a 10-7 lead. Brandon Lieberman served consecutive points as Immaculata extended their lead to 16-12. With Immaculata leading 21-18, Cairn scored four straight points to take a 23-21 lead. Immaculata was able to get a side out, and Brandon Lieberman would serve the final three points as Immaculata closed out the win taking set four 25-23.
