Mighty Macs' IM swimmers medal during Saturday's session


ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.- The Immaculata men's and women's swimming teams continued to battle in the Atlantic East Conference Championship on Saturday. Immaculata's IM'ers highlighted Saturday's portion of the meet, as Delanie McPeak and Mike DeMattei set IU program records in the 400-yard Individual Medley.

Session 5 Summary
Events: 400-yard Individual Medley, 100-yard Butterfly, 200-yard Freestyle, 100-yard Breaststroke, 100-yard Backstroke, 400-yard Medley Relay
  • Delanie McPeak finished second in the Conference in the 400-yard Individual Medley with a time of 5:01.37, good for another program record. McPeak had broken the 200-yd IM record during the second night of the Atlantic East Championship meet. 
  • Mike DeMattei followed suit, setting a new Immaculata program record on the men's side of the 400-yard Individual Medley. He'd place third overall with a time of 4:34.86.
  • Rebecca Ambrose touched wall in 1:11.71 for the 100 Yard Butterfly, placing 8th in the event.
  • Four women competed in the 200-yard Freestyle: Keira Wiley (7th place; 2:13.44), Jess Kiederling (10th; 2:31.72), Bella Hernandez (11th; 2:40.92), and Ava McEntire (12th; 3:18.89).
  • Gabriel Bocaj placed seventh in the 200-yard Freestyle behind a time of 1:52.23, as Aidan Gall earned 10th place, clocking 2:24.47.
  • Liz Ferguson placed 9th in the 100-yard Breaststroke with the time of 1:15.17 while Jess Callahan finished 14th with a 1:44.94.
  • Joella Moyer placed 5th in the 100 Yard Backstroke with the time of 1:06.51
  • Zach Crawford came in at 1:01.98 during the 100 Yard Backstroke, placing 8th in the Conference.
  • The Mighty Macs finished 4th in the Women's 400-yard Medley Relay with the time of 4:35.86. The unit featured Joella Moyer swimming lead, Delanie McPeak swimming the second leg, Rebecca Ambrose taking the third leg, and LIz Ferguson anchoring.
  • The men's team also finished 4th in the 400-yard Medley Relay, as the quartet of Zach Crawford, Mike DeMattei, Gabriel Bocaj, and Lucas Lau touched wall in 4:17.57.

Conference Standing
  • The Immaculata women's swimming team collected 113 points on the day, raising their three-day total to 283. The Mighty Macs are presently fourth place in the team standings but sit within striking distance of Marywood; who is now third with 325 points.  
  • The Immaculata men's team earned 76 points on Saturday, upping their point total to 183. The Mighty Macs sit fourth place in the cumulative standings, 29 points shy of Marywood University for third.
On Deck
  • Both programs wrap up the Atlantic East Conference Championship meet on Sunday
  • The first heat of prelims begin at 10am (Session 6)
  • Finals are set to begin at 4pm (Session 7)
