Immaculata, Pa. – The Immaculata men's swimming team will travel to St. Mary's College of Maryland to compete in the 2025 Atlantic East Conference Swimming Championships. For the second straight year, the championships will span four days starting on Thursday at 6 p.m.

The Atlantic East Conference announced their Women's Swimming Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll on Tuesday afternoon and Immaculata was voted fourth in the poll with 8 points.

St. Mary's was selected as the favorite to win the AEC Championship with 16 points and four first place votes. Marymount is second with 13 points and one first place vote. Marywood was selected third with nine points. Immaculata is fourth with eight points, and Gallaudet rounds out the poll with four.

Immaculata enters the swimming championships with a 3-6 overall record and is 2-2 against Atlantic East Conference competition.

"I am extremely excited to watch the team compete this year at the Atlantic East Conference Championships," said Head Coach
Josh Pace. "We have been grinding hard in the pool the last few months and I believe all of the hard work is going to pay off."

The Immaculata men's team is led by senior
Gabriel Bocaj, and sophomore
Mike DeMattei. Sophomore
Aidan Gall has stepped up a bigger role this season, and freshman
Lucas Lau and
Zach Crawford have made an immediate impact on the team.

Mike DeMattei was named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week on November 3, 2024, and to the AEC Weekly Honor Roll two times.
Gabriel Bocaj was named to the AEC Weekly Honor Roll two times, and
Zach Crawford was named the Weekly Honor Roll one time.

"I expect Sophomore
Mike Demattei and Senior
Gabriel Bocaj to lead us at conference championships," continued Pace. "I am expecting a ton of season and personal best times, and I fully expect to rewrite our record board."

The Championships will be the team's first competition since their dual meet at Arcadia on January 25
th.

"This season we have not done any type of meet that we rested for," concluded Pace. "The team is itching to finally be able to taper, throw on a fast suit and compete."

- Immaculata will put one team in the men's 200-yard medley relay.
- Immaculata will enter one team in the men's 800-yard freestyle relay.
- In the men's 500-yard freestyle Gabriel Bocaj and Aidan Gall will compete for Immaculata.
- In the men's 200-yard IM Mike DeMattei will represent Immaculata.
- In the men's 50-yard freestyle, Zach Crawford will compete for Immaculata.
- Immaculata will enter one team in the men's 200-yard freestyle relay.
- In the men's 400-yard IM Mike DeMattei will represent Immaculata.
- In the men's 100-yard butterfly, Gabriel Bocaj will compete for Immaculata.
- In the men's 200-yard freestyle Gabriel Bocaj, Zach Crawford, and Aidan Gall will compete for Immaculata.
- In the men's 200-yard backstroke, Zach Crawford will represent Immaculata.
- Immaculata will enter a team in the men's 400-yard medley relay.
- In the men's 200-yard backstroke Immaculata will be represented by Mike DeMattei.
- In the men's 100-yard freestyle Gabriel Bocaj, Zach Crawford, and Lucas Lau will compete for Immaculata.
- In the men's 200-yard butterfly Gabriel Bocaj is competing for Immaculata.
- In the men's 1650-yard freestyle, Lucas Lau, and Aidan Gall will compete for Immaculata.
- Immaculata will enter a team in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
