THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata Men's and Women's Swimming Teams will be back in the pool on Saturday, when they visit Arcadia University for a non-conference dual meet. This will be the final regular season meet for the Mighty Macs before the Atlantic East Conference Championships.
  • The Immaculata Men's Team (3-5, 2-2 AEC) enters Saturday's meet after defeating Gallaudet on January 18th 85-61.
  • The Immaculata Women's Team (3-7, 2-3 AEC) enters Saturday's meet after defeating Gallaudet on January 18th 127-51.
  • The Arcadia Men's Team (2-3, 1-3 MAC) enter Saturday's meet after falling to Widener 180-81 on January 18th.
  • The Arcadia Women's Team (0-7, 0-4 MAC) enter Saturday's meet after falling to Widener 162-98 on January18th.
 
THE SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and Arcadia are meeting for the fourth time in their series that began in 2019.
  • The Immaculata Men's and Women's Teams are both 0-3 all-time vs Arcadia.
 
LAST MEETING
  • The Immaculata Men's Team fell to Arcadia 184-33 in their last meeting on 1/27/2024 at Cabrini. Gabriel Bocaj earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, and a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle for Immaculata.
  • The Immaculata Women's Team fell to Arcadia 175-48 in their last meeting on 1/27/2024 at Cabrini. Liz Ferguson earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, and Colleen Blakelock earned a pair of second place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle for the Mighty Macs.
 
MIGHTY MAC MEN'S NOTES
In last weekend's meet at Gallaudet
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Gabriel Bocaj, Lucas Lau, Aidan Gall, and Mike DeMattei took first place with a time of 1:45.98.
  • Gabriel Bocaj won the 200-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 1:54.32. He also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54:54.
  • Lucas Lau won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 13:20.16. Lau finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.60.
  • Mike DeMattei won the 200-yard IM with a personal best time of 2:14.01 and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.62 in his first time swimming this event.
  • Zach Crawford won the 50-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 23.87 and won the 100-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 52.50.
  • Aidan Gall won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:52.02 and finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 30.52.
 
 MIGHTY MAC WOMEN'S NOTES
In last weekend's meet at Gallaudet
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Bella Hernandez, Keira Wiley, Liz Ferguson, and Delanie McPeak finished first place with a time of 2:02.52.
  • Delanie McPeak won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:34.37 and won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.84 swimming the event for the first time.
  • Liz Ferguson won the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal best time of 1:21.75 and finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 30.31.
  • Keira Wiley finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:26.06.
  • Jess Kiederling finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:40.92, and in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 7:23.68. she finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:13.82.
  • Ashley Batejan won the 50-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 28.02 and won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.54.
  • Joella Moyer finished second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:39.53, and second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:23.23 swimming the event for the first time.
  • Rebecca Ambrose won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:12.47 in her Immaculata debut.
  • Jess Callahan finished third in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 18:00.82 and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 8:29.97.
  • Valeska Buestan finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 3:39.09, and third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:37.38.
  • Ava McEntire finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a personal best time of 42.24 and finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.92.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Delanie McPeak was named to the Atlantic East Conference Women's Swimming Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
  • Gabriel Bocaj was named to the Atlantic East Conference Men's Swimming Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Immaculata Men's and Women's Swimming Teams will be back in action on Thursday, February 13th through Sunday February 16th when they travel to St Mary's College of Maryland in St. Mary's City, Maryland for the Atlantic East Conference Championships.
