Men's Lacrosse Rallies Late in Loss to Arcadia in Snowy Opener

IMMACULATA, Pa.- On a snowy Saturday afternoon, the Immaculata men's lacrosse team opened their 2025 season falling to Arcadia 11-9 at Draper Walsh Stadium. Arcadia jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, before Immaculata responded with three straight goals. Arcadia increased their lead to 9-4, before Immaculata scored five out of the last seven goals in the game. With the loss Immaculata is 0-1, while Arcadia improves to 2-0 in the season.
 
Scoring
-Bailey Manion led Immaculata with three goals, followed by Ryan Gorman with two goals, Joseph Biuso with two goals, Connor Teears with one goal, and Nicholas DeFilippo with one goal.
-Ryan Gorman had two assists, David Azzarano had two assists, Bailey Manion, and Ryan Gorman each added one assist.
 
Defensive
-Matthew Ludlow made 13 saves and had a team-high five ground balls.
-Colton Rhoades had five caused turnovers, Aidan Lawrence had three caused turnovers, Zach Johnson, Jacob Rhoads, and Seth Panowitz each had one caused turnover.

How it Happened
  • Arcadia scored the game's first goal two minutes into the game, as they would go on to open a 4-0 lead with 3:30 remaining in the first quarter.
  • Ryan Gorman got Immaculata on the board with 1:49 remaining in the first quarter off an assist by David Azzarano.
  • Joseph Biuso scored in the first minute of the second quarter to cut the Arcadia lead to 4-2. Bailey Manion scored 0:39 seconds later from an assist Connor Teears to make the score 4-3.
  • Arcadia would get a goal back, before Joseph Biuso scored on the man up assisted by Ryan Gorman with 8:46 remaining in the quarter. Arcadia responded with four straight goals to take a 9-4 lead into the halftime break.
  • Nicholas DeFilippo opened the scoring in the third quarter with an unassisted goal with 10:30 remaining. Connor Teears scored off an assist from Bailey Manion with 0:24 remaining in the quarter. Bailey Manion scored with 0:03 remaining as Immaculata went into the fourth quarter trailing 10-7.
  • Ryan Gorman scored unassisted, and Bailey Manion scored his third goal of the game assisted by Connor Teears with 2:43 remaining. Arcadia would go on to close out the win 11-9.
