WASHINGTON D.C.- The Immaculata men's volleyball team earned a split in their tri-match with Randolph-Macon and Gallaudet in Washington D.C. on Saturday. Immaculata fell to Randolph-Macon 3-0 (8-25, 19-25, 23-25) in their first match, and defeated host Gallaudet 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-19) in their second match.
With the split, Immaculata improves to 2-1 on the season.
Josh McGurl had a combined 15 kills, Joe Martell had a combined 39 assists, and Matthew Pfister had a combined 26 digs to lead Immaculata.
HOW IT HAPPENED VS RANDOLPH-MACON

Set 3- In the third set Josh McGurl got a kill to tie the score a 7-7. Randolph-Macon then went on a four-point run to take an 11-7 lead. Immaculata would not go quietly, as Josh McGurl had a service ace, and Christian Lee had a kill to cut Randolph-Macon's lead to 20-19. Joe Martell had a service ace to keep Immaculata in the set. Randolph-Macon would close out the 3-0 win, taking set three 25-23.

HOW IT HAPPENED VS GALLAUDET

Set 3- Josh McGurl got a kill to give Immaculata an 8-5 lead. Gallaudet would not go quietly as they rallied to tie the score at 17-17. Immaculata was able to get a side out to take an 18-17 lead. Joe Martell served three consecutive points including a service ace to give Immaculata a 21-17 lead. Lucas McNeil served the final two points as Immaculata closed out the match, taking set three 25-19.
