Men's Soccer Makes Statement in Draw to Marymount Saints

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata men's soccer's defense stood tall on Wednesday versus the Marymount University Saints, as the match concluded in a scoreless tie. The Mighty Macs gave the Saints, who are the second seed in the Atlantic East Conference standings, their fourth tie of the season.

The Mighty Macs are 1-8-2 for the season. They are 0-0-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYMOUNT
  • The Saints' offense was hot from the beginning of the match. In the initial 20 minutes, Luca Greppellini made four saves in seven shots faced. Michael Prall nearly knocked a shot in the net, but it was saved. The first half was a defensive battle, ending with the score at 0-0.
  • Marymount was unable to get past the Mighty Macs' defense, despite three consecutive corner kicks early in the second half. Immaculata continued to hold off Marymount's aggressive offense. In the 82nd minute, Matteo Paolillo subbed in at goalie for Greppellini after an injury. Paolillo picked up where Greppellini left off, making two saves in three shots faced. Immaculata and Marymount finished with a 0-0 final.
