MADISON, N.J. – The Immaculata men's soccer team came up just short on the road Saturday evening, falling to Saint Elizabeth by a score of 2-1. Despite a late push and a goal in the 80th minute, the Mighty Macs were unable to find the equalizer.
With the result, Immaculata drops to 1-9-2 overall and 0-1-2 in Atlantic East Conference play. Saint Elizabeth improves to 3-4-3 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST SAINT ELIZABETH
- After a scoreless first half where Immaculata held a 6-4 edge in shots, Saint Elizabeth broke through early in the second.
- In the 51st minute, the Eagles converted a penalty kick following a foul in the box, with Tugay Bozogluer putting the hosts ahead 1-0.
- Just five minutes later, Franco Arteaga doubled the lead for Saint Elizabeth with a goal in the 56th minute.
- Immaculata responded in the 80th minute, pulling within one after an own goal by Saint Elizabeth.
- Despite applying pressure late, the Mighty Macs couldn't find the equalizer as the Eagles held on for the win.
