IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata field hockey team dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Neumann on Wednesday evening in their regular season finale at Draper Walsh Stadium. With the result, the Mighty Macs close the regular season with a 7-12 overall record and 2-2 mark in Atlantic East Conference play, earning the No. 3 seed in the upcoming AEC Tournament. Immaculata will travel to No. 2 seed Neumann for a semifinal matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEUMANN
- Immaculata controlled play early, recording four first-quarter shots, including a quality chance from Alexis Andrada that was turned aside by the Neumann goalkeeper.
- The Knights broke through 11:05 into the second quarter when Cadence Conti scored off a penalty corner to give Neumann a 1-0 lead they carried into halftime.
- Goalkeeper Mackenzie Schrack made two key saves in the second quarter and another early in the third to keep the Macs within one.
- Immaculata pressed for the equalizer in the fourth, earning five penalty corners and nine shots, but Neumann's defense held firm as the Knights' goalkeeper stopped attempts from Andrada, Gabrielle O'Brien, and Emilyn Bivens to secure the win.
