Immaculata, Neumann Battle for AEC Semifinal Hosting Rights Wednesday Night

WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata University field hockey team (7-11, 2-1 AEC) will conclude regular season play on Wednesday, when they host Neumann University at Draper Walsh Stadium at 7 p.m.
  • Immaculata enters Wednesday's game after earning a 3-2 come-from-behind win in overtime at Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, where they clinched an AEC playoff spot.
  • Neumann (9-6, 2-1 AEC) enters Wednesday's game after defeating Gwynedd Mercy 3-1 in their last game on October 22.
  • Both Immaculata and Neumann have clinched spots in the AEC Tournament, and the winner of Wednesday's game will host the AEC Semifinal between the two schools on Saturday.

  • Neumann won three out of their last four games earning wins over Manhattanville, Gwynedd Mercy, and Lancaster Bible while falling to Marywood.
  • Junior forward Cadence Conti leads the Knights with 10 goals and one assist for 21 points.
  • Sophomore midfielder Gabriella Cappelli scored eight goals, with four assists for 20 points.
  • Sophomore forward Meghan Sheldrick scored five goals and got one assist for 11 points.
  • Senior goalkeeper Caley Gee has started 15 games and has 59 saves on 89 shots faced.
 
AEC WEEKLY HONORS
  • Alexis Andrada was named to the AEC Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Andrada scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season this weekend before assisting on the game-winning goal in overtime as Immaculata earned a 3-2 victory over Gwynedd Mercy to clinch a spot in the AEC playoffs. This was Andrada's third time being named to the Weekly Honor Roll this season along with earning Player of the Week Honors on September 8.

  • #1 Marywood (4–0): Clinched top seed; will host #4 seed in Saturday's semifinal.
  • #2T Immaculata vs. #2T Neumann (both 2–1): Wednesday's winner earns home-field advantage for Saturday's semifinal.
