Women's Soccer Defeats Neumann Knights in Key Conference Match

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata women's soccer tallied a crucial 1-0 win against the Neumann University Knights on Wednesday. This keeps them firmly in the Atlantic East Conference playoff hunt.

The Mighty Macs are 4-8-1 for the season. They are 3-2 in AEC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEUMANN
  • Early on, both teams traded a pair of shot attempts each. The Mighty Macs had chances in the first half, but their shots were just off-target. Both defenses shined in the opening 45 minutes, with the score staying at 0-0 going into the locker room.
  • The Mighty Macs' aggressiveness paid off in the second half, as Lily McGee knocked in a goal in the 74th minute. Mia Perrone assisted on the play. Neumann had multiple chances in the final minute of regulation. Immaculata, though, kept every shot in front of them, and the match concluded with 1-0 Mighty Macs win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • McGee scored the match's only goal. Perrone got the assist.
  • Gracie Repici led the team with three of four shots being on goal.
  • Emily Guthier recorded a shutout in net and logged four saves, three of which came in the second half.
