Immaculata Falls to Marywood 3-0 in Atlantic East Field Hockey Matchup

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Three different players found the back of the cage for Marywood as the Pacers defeated Immaculata 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Wednesday was Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Draper Walsh Stadium as the Immaculata Field Hockey and Women's Soccer had a Pink Out Doubleheader to raise awareness about breast cancer.

With the loss Immaculata falls to 6-11 overall and 1-1 in AEC play. With the win Marywood improved to 8-8 overall, and 3-0 in AEC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYWOOD
  • Immaculata generated an early scoring chance just three minutes into the contest, but Alexis Andrada's shot off a penalty corner went just wide.
  • The game remained scoreless until 11:07 of the second quarter, when Dariane Jones capitalized on a rebound to give Marywood a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
  • The Mighty Macs held a 9-7 shot advantage in the opening half and led 3-2 in penalty corners but could not break through on the scoreboard.
  • Marywood extended its lead in the third quarter with goals from Brooke Barwick (6:04) and Amelia Niven (11:08) to push the margin to 3-0.
  • Despite generating 10 second-half shots, including five on goal, Immaculata was unable to find the back of the cage as Marywood closed out the shutout win.

  • The Mighty Macs will look to bounce back on Saturday, traveling to Gwynedd Mercy for an important Atlantic East Conference matchup with playoff implications.
