Women's Volleyball Dominates Pratt Cannoneers to Stay Perfect in Conference Play

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Although Immaculata women's volleyball lost the first set against the Pratt Institute Cannoneers on Saturday, they stormed back and picked up a 3-1 win.

The Mighty Macs are 8-13 for the season. They are 2-0 in AEC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST PRATT
  • The opening set was a good battle where neither side got too far ahead. Immaculata's serves were on point, as Damani Myers, Adriana Ventura, and Lauren Gartman tallied aces. Even though Immaculata held a slim 20-19 lead, the Cannoneers finished with a 6-3 push to steal set one 25-23.
  • With the score at Immaculata 4-3 in the second set, the Mighty Macs used a 7-1 outburst to lead 11-4. Emma Hodgson served up two aces in that stretch. An 8-0 run later in the set was highlighted by Angelica Santini Bulerin. Across those eight points, she had a kill and five aces. Back-to-back Pratt errors concluded the set, with Immaculata claiming a 25-11 win.
  • The Mighty Macs scored the initial five points of the third set. Although the Cannoneers would tie the set multiple times, Immaculata controlled the lead the entire way. With Pratt only down one point, a 10-3 Immaculata run sealed the set at 25-17.
  • A multitude of Pratt errors provided the Mighty Macs with the early advantage in the final set. Antonia Antolini made consecutive kills to make the score 10-2. Kills from Santini Bulerin and Myers concluded the match. Immaculata took set four 25-19, and the match 3-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Myers had a team-high 12 kills.
  • Santini Bulerin saw 22 assists and a season-high six aces.
  • Ventura tallied 12 digs.
  • Immaculata saw a season-high 20 aces, beating out their previous season-high of 18 at Penn State Abington on August 30.
