Palladino Scores Twice as Women’s Soccer Falls to Pratt Cannoneers

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Immaculata women's soccer played a competitive match with the Pratt Institute Cannoneers on Saturday, but the home team won 4-2.

The Mighty Macs are 3-8-1 for the season. They are 2-2 in AEC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST PRATT
  • Both sides traded a handful of shots in the early portion of the first half. Following a Pratt corner kick, the Cannoneers got a shot past Emily Guthier moments later. The Mighty Macs had a few opportunities on corner kicks of their own, but they were unable to capitalize. Pratt led 1-0 after 45 minutes.
  • The second half was a scoring explosion from both sides. By the 52nd minute, the Cannoneers extended their lead to 3-0, netting two goals in about three minutes. Immaculata's offense stayed aggressive, with shots coming from Gabby Palladino and Mia Perrone. In the 65th minute, Palladino erased the Mighty Macs' zero on the board on a Gracie Repici assist. Pratt would score once more before Palladino cashed in again, this time from Sophia Mazzotta. However, the deficit was too great for the Mighty Macs to make a comeback. The Cannoneers won the match 4-2.
