PURCHASE, N.Y.- The Immaculata field hockey team opened Atlantic East Conference play with a solid 2-0 win at Manhattanville on Friday afternoon.
Maria Berenato scored her first goal of the season in the second quarter, and
Alexis Andrada scored her 10th goal of the season in the third quarter to provide the margin of victory.
Mackenzie Schrack stopped an early penalty stroke in the first quarter to keep the game scoreless.

With the win Immaculata improves to 6-10 overall and is 1-0 in Atlantic East Conference play. With the loss Manhattanville falls to 4-9 overall, and 0-2 in Atlantic East Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MANHATTANVILLE
- Manhattanville was awarded a penalty stroke 4:55 into the first quarter. Immaculata goalkeeper Mackenzie Schrack saved the attempt to keep the game scoreless.
- Immaculata opened the scoring 9:06 into the second quarter, when Maria Berenato scored assisted by Gabrielle O'Brien to give Immaculata the 1-0 lead.
- Immaculata carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. Immaculata out shot Manhattanville 3-1 in the first half.
- Immaculata extended their lead to 2-0 at the 12:28 mark of the third quarter, when Alexis Andrada scored unassisted after a penalty corner.
- Immaculata limited Manhattanville to just two shots on goal as they closed out the 1-0 win.
