Women's Soccer Falls to Ursinus in Final Non-Conference Match

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Immaculata University women's soccer team wrapped up its non-conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon, falling 4-0 on the road to Ursinus College. The Mighty Macs battled throughout the match but were unable to break through a strong Ursinus defense.
 
With the loss, the Mighty Macs drop to 1-6-1 overall, while Ursinus improves to 5-3-2, 0-2-1 Centennial.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED VS URSINUS
  • Ursinus struck early, scoring just five minutes into the match to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Immaculata nearly responded minutes later when Gracie Repici had a close chance, but her shot missed narrowly wide.
  • The Bears doubled their lead in the 17th minute, then quickly added another in the 21st minute to head into halftime leading 3-0.
  • Ursinus another just four minutes later, capitalizing again in the 21st minute to carry a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime.
  • Ursinus scored their final goal early in the second half, netting in the 49th minute to extend the advantage to 4-0.
  • Despite continuous pressure from Ursinus, Immaculata goalkeeper Devan Cosgrove made three second half saves to help keep the scoreline from growing.

  • Emily Guthier started in goal for the Mighty Macs, playing for the first 60 minutes and making five saves.
  • Devan Cosgrove played for the final 30 minutes in net, recording three saves.
  • Addison Yackel recorded the team's lone shot on goal.
