Men's Basketball Falls to Neumann in AEC Contest, 79-70

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Neumann used a 21-11 run in the final eight minutes of the fourth quarter as Immaculata fell to Neumann 79-70 on Wednesday evening at Alumnae Hall. Mandon Seapoe led Immaculata with 20 points as one of three players in double digits for the Mighty Macs.

With the loss Immaculata falls to 5-10 overall, and to 0-2 in Atlantic East Conference play. With the win Neumann improves to 11-4 overall, and to 2-0 in Atlantic East Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Dylan Crews and Mandon Seapoe each scored to give Immaculata an early 4-0 lead. After Neumann hit a three-pointer, Tym Richardson responded with a three ball of his own to increase Immaculata's lead to 7-3. Samuel Jankowski scored on a layup with 7:32 remaining in the half to tie the score at 19-19. Mandon Seapoe followed with a driving layup, John Proctor hit a pair of free throws, and Idan Zuker hit a three pointer as Immaculata led 26-21 with 4:38 remaining in the half.
  • Mandon Seapoe would score on layup off a turnover in the paint, and Idan Zuker hit a three-pointer with seconds remaining in the half as Immaculata led 31-26 at the half. Seapoe and Zuker led Immaculata with six points each in the first half of play.
  • In the second half, Mandon Seapoe scored on a layup with 15:20 remaining in the game as Immaculata increased their lead to 49-37. The game slowed down in the second half as a total of 35 fouls were called, including 23 on Immaculata.
  • Neumann used an 8-0 run to cut Immaculata's lead to 49-45. Dylan Crews hit a pair of free throws to break the run. Crews would score on a driving layup with 11:45 remaining to put Immaculata ahead 54-48. Neumann followed with a 10-3 run to take a 58-57 lead with 8:37 remaining. Tym Richardson hit a pair of free throws to give Immaculata a brief lead.
  • Neumann responded with an 8-0 run to take a 74-66 lead with 0:44 remaining in the game. Neumann would go on to close out the win 79-70.
