Men's Basketball Falls to Marywood in Overtime, 85-80

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team fell to Marywood 85-80 in overtime on Wednesday evening at Alumnae Hall. John Proctor had a double-double, scoring 23 points and pulling down 11 rebounds to lead Immaculata.

With the loss, Immaculata falls to 6-13 overall, and to 1-5 in Atlantic East Conference play. Marywood improves to 10-8 overall, and to 2-3 in Atlantic East Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • John Proctor scored six of Immaculata's first eight points, and Tym Richardson hit Immaculata's lone three-pointer as the Mighty Macs opened an early 11-4 lead. Marywood responded pushing back to take a 14-13 lead with 9:33 remaining in the first half.
  • Mandon Seapoe scored on a layup with 5:37 remaining in the half to tie the score at 19-19. After a Marywood three-pointer, Ryan Straub scored on a layup. Marywood would go up 26-21 with 2:40 remaining in the half. Immaculata got layups from John Proctor and Mandon Seapoe as went to halftime trailing Marywood 28-25.
  • In the second half, Marywood extended their lead to 38-29 with 17:30 remaining in the half. Immaculata would respond with layups from Ryan Straub, Mandon Seapoe, Dylan Crews, and John Proctor to cut the lead to 38-37. Ryan Straub scored on a layup with 9:43 remaining to put Immaculata up 53-46. Marywood responded and tied the score at 56-56 with 7:35 remaining in regulation.
  • Marywood hit a three-pointer with 3:56 remaining to extend their lead to 65-57. Dylan Crews hit a pair of free throws, and John Flood scored on consecutive layups as Immaculata trimmed the Marywood lead to 65-64 with 2:14 remaining. Mandon Seapoe hit a pair of free throws, and a jumper and Dylan Crews hit a pair of free throws with 0:18 remaining in regulation to tie the score at 70-70. Marywood's late shot did not fall, and the game went to overtime.
  • In overtime Marywood hit a pair of three pointers and got a pair of layups on their way to closing out the 85-80 road win.
