Coleman's Career Night Leads Women's Basketball to a 79-54 Win over Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team won their eighth consecutive game defeating Marywood 79-55 on Wednesday evening at Marywood. Carly Coleman led Immaculata registering a double-double scoring a career-high 22 points, shooting 9-10 from the field, and 6-7 from the stripe, with 12 rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.

With the win, Immaculata improves to 15-3 overall, and to 5-0 in Atlantic East Conference play. With the loss Marywood falls to 10-9 overall, and 1-3 in Atlantic East Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Reese Mullins scored Immaculata's first basket to tie the score at 2-2 with 9:23 remaining in the first quarter. Carly Coleman scored on a pair of layups as Immaculata tied the score at 8-8. Riley Cassidy scored on a lay-up, and Abigail Boyer hit a three-pointer as Immaculata up 17-13 with 2:28 remaining in the quarter. Reese Mullins scored late on a layup as Immaculata led 21-18 after the first quarter.
  • Olivia Ettorre got Immaculata started in the second quarter with an early layup. Carly Coleman hit a pair of jumpers, Alyssa Long hit a jumper, and Riley Cassidy scored on a layup as Immaculata extended their lead to 31-18 with 5:36 remaining in the second quarter. Reese Mullins hit a pair of free throws as Immaculata led 40-21. Marywood scored eight straight points, before Meg Robbins scored on a late tip in as Immaculata led 42-29 at the half. Carly Coleman and Reese Mullins each scored eight first half points for Immaculata.
  • In the third quarter, Carly Coleman scored 9 straight points for Immaculata, as the Mighty Macs led 51-39 with 4:45 remaining in the quarter. Tessa Liberatoscioli scored on a layup, and Immaculata would get free throws from Coleman, Reese Mullins, and Olivia Ettorre as Immaculata led 62-44 after three quarters of play.
  • In the fourth quarter Meg Robbins scored on a layup, Tessa Liberatoscioli hit a three-pointer, and Robbins followed with another jumper as Immaculata led 69-49 with 7:03 remaining. Julia Pohl hit a pair of jumpers, and Kaylia Rice scored as Immaculata went on to close out the win 79-55.
