Men's Basketball Falls to Centenary in AEC Contest, 82-80

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Centenary scored on a layup with four seconds remaining to defeat Immaculata 82-80 in an Atlantic East Conference (AEC) game at Alumnae Hall. Dylan Crews led Immaculata with 16 points as one of four Mighty Macs who scored in double figures today.

Immaculata slips to 6-12 overall, and to 1-4 in Conference play. Centenary snapped it's two game losing streak to improve to 8-9 overall, and 2-2 in AEC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Centenary jumped out to an early lead, up 10-4 with 13:54 remaining in the half. Mandon Seapoe scored on a layup, John Proctor scored on a layup and Domenic Vacchiano hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to 12-11 with 10:51 remaining in the half.
  • Tym Richardson would hit a three-pointer with 5:04 remaining in the half to tie the score at 24-24. Jalen Flowers gave Immaculata their first lead with a three-pointer, and Tym Richardson scored on a layup and completed the old fashioned three-point play at the free throw line to put Immaculata up 30-27. John Flood scored on a layup, and Mandon Seapoe followed with a steal and a layup of his own. Ryan Straub scored on second chance opportunity with 0:39 remaining in the half as Immaculata led 36-29 at halftime. Mandon Seapoe and Tym Richardson led Immaculata in the first half scoring eight points each.
  • In the second half, Jalen Flowers hit back-to-back three-pointers to extend the Immaculata lead to 57-42 with 13:18 remaining in the game. Centenary responded with an 8-0 run to cut Immaculata's lead to 61-57. John Flood scored on a layup with 7:10 remaining to put Immaculata up 65-60. Centenary used a 10-0 run to take a 70-65 lead with 4:32 remaining in the game.
  • Dylan Crews hit a three-pointer and followed with followed with another three-point play from layup and free throw to cut the lead to 75-73 with 2:26 remaining. Jalen Flowers hit another three-pointer with 1:31 remaining to tie the score at 78-78. After a Centenary score, Crews hit a pair of free throws to tie the score at 80-80. After a turnover by Centenary, Mandon Seapoe' s shot was blocked and Centenary scored on a driving layup to take an 82-80 lead with 0:04 remaining. After a timeout, Dylan Crews took the inbound pass up the floor to try to tie the game at the buzzer, but his shot did not fall as Centenary closed out the 82-80 win.
