Field Hockey Travels to King's for First Road Game on Saturday

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University field hockey team (1-1) heads on the road for the first time in 2024 when they travel to Wilkes-Barre to play King's College (0-1) on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
  • These schools will be meeting for the ninth time in a series that began in 2015.
  • Immaculata is 3-5 overall vs King's. Immaculata has won the last three meetings.
LAST MEETING
  • Immaculata defeated King's 1-0 on September 9, 2023, at Draper Walsh Stadium.
  • Jillian Vandenbraak scored in the game's 48th minute on an assist from her sister Lauren Vandenbraak to provide the margin of victory.
  • Goalkeeper Julia Levase made nine saves, including six in the final quarter to earn the shutout.
IMMACULATA NOTES
  • Immaculata will look to bounce back from Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to Eastern.
  • Alexis Andrada continued her strong start to her college career scoring the Mighty Macs first two goals on Wednesday. She scored in the game's 13th minute on an assist from Gigi Fox, and then scored her second goal in the 51st minute when she deflected Alexa Marczak's shot into the cage for her second and third goals on the season.
  • Della George scored the Mighty Macs third goal in the game's 54 minute when she scored on her own rebound. George has registered points in each of the games this season assisting on Andrada's goal vs Albright.
  • Julia Levase has made a combined 10 saves over the two games, including five in last Saturday's 1-0 win over Albright.
  • Immaculata will rely on seniors Madalyn Bonner and Kaitlin Gale to lead the defensive core on Saturday.
SCOUTING KING'S
  • King's fell to Cedar Crest 3-1 at home on September 3rd in their 2024 season opener.
  • Midfielder Emma Bealla scored the Monarchs lone goal in the 12th minute of play on an assist from Allie Chocallo.
  • Goalkeeper Emily Bollinger made four saves for the Monarchs.
  • Forward Emma Clark had five shots on goal, and forward Shaylee Heffron had four shots on goal.
  • King's out shot Cedar Crest 24-12 and 14-8 in shots on goal.
  • Kings had a 19-7 advantage in penalty corners.
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Immaculata swept the Atlantic East Conference weekly awards for the opening weekend of the season.
  • Alexis Andrada was named Atlantic East Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week.
  • Goalkeeper Julia Levase was named Atlantic East Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week.
MOVING UP THE CHARTS
  • Goalkeeper Julia Levase is tied for the Immaculata field hockey program record for career wins with 17. She is currently tied for the record with Sarah Pasternak 2013-16, and Britt Worthington 2008-10.
