IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team (0-1) fell to Wilkes University 5-2 in the fall season opening match at the IU Tennis Courts on Wednesday. Wilkes took all three doubles matches, to take a 1-0 lead into the singles matches. Wilkes took four out of six singles matches, which included three matches decided by tiebreakers to earn the 5-2 win. Delaney Brown and Hailey Elwell won their singles matches for Immaculata. This was Hailey Elwell's first collegiate win.

Sophia Carey, Hailey Elwell, Laura Pharo, and Athena Kritikson were playing in there first college tennis matches today.

Doubles Results

• Pamela Kontaras and Delaney Brown lost in first doubles 8-3.
• Audrey Keen and Sophia Carey lost in second doubles 8-4.
• Laura Pharo and Hailey Elwell lost in third doubles 8-4.
• Wilkes led 1-0 after the doubles matches.

Singles Results

• Pamela Kontaras lost in first singles 0-6, 6-4, 9-11.
• Delaney Brown won in second singles 7-5, 6-1.
• Audrey Keen lost in third singles 2-6, 1-6.
• Sophia Carey lost in fourth singles 4-6, 6-4, 6-10.
• Hailey Elwell won in fifth singles 4-6, 6-0, 10-5 (First Collegiate win)
• Laura Pharo lost in sixth singles 1-6, 1-6.
• Athena Kritikson played in a seventh singles match losing 2-8.

 
Wilkes won 4-out-6 singles matches to win the match overall 5-2.
