Olalaye's 90th-minute goal hands Albright season-first loss

READING, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's soccer team found the back of the net in the final minute of regulation to spurn Albright College 2-1 on Wednesday evening. The Mighty Macs and Lions were deadlocked at one goal apiece for 59 minutes of play before Jonathan Olalaye's 90th minute strike gave the Carolina blue their third win of the season.

How It Happened
  • Albright had a decisive edge early, creating two corner kicks and five total shots inside the first twelve minutes. 
  • The Lions and Macs traded corner kicks in the 24th minute, but neither led to a goal.
  • Immaculata's first shot of the game found the back of the net, as Reed Lindsay assisted Matthew Kirkpatrick to give the Macs a 1-0 lead at the 26:56 mark.
  • Albright responded quickly, as the Lions' leading scorer Christian Bowles evened the scoreboard three minutes later. 
  • Immaculata looked to reclaim the lead late in the first half, earning corner kicks in the 36th and 41st minute. Jaden Jones put a shot on goal with twenty seconds until the break, but his try met the hands of Lions' keeper Chris Denholm.
  • Two Mighty Macs were assessed with yellow cards, their second and third of the evening, in the 55th minute.
  • Collin Hassay, Matthew Kirkpatrick, and Reed Lindsay found shots in the following minutes.
  • The Mighty Macs drew two corners around the 65th minute, but neither was realized for a go-ahead goal. 
  • Albright gained rhythm late, stringing shots in the 77th and 78th minutes. John Wilhelm picked up his fifth save on the first of the tries.
  • Matthew Kirkpatrick and Reed Lindsay sought the game winner with strikes in the 79th and 85th minute, but each try went North of the crossbar.
  • The Lions garnered four shots in the final eight minutes, two of which required saves from Wilhelm.
  • With 54 seconds remaining, Jonathan Olalaye's timely goal lifted the Mighty Macs past the Lions.
