ABINGTON, Pa.- The Immaculata women's volleyball team (2-4), returned to action on Monday night, when they visited Penn State Abington (7-2) for a non-conference match. Immaculata fell to Penn State Abington 3-0. 

How it Happened 

• Penn State Abington got off to a quick start in the first set building a 7-0 lead.  

• Alayah Phifer broke the run with a kill. 

• Dinah Stabinski served two consecutive points to cut the lead to 8-3. 

• Penn State Abington would go on to take the first set 25-12. 

• After trailing 4-0 in the second set, they got kills from Mia Esposito, Calissa Araujo, and Mel Mann to cut the lead to 7-5. 

• Immaculata would continue to battle back throughout the second set with kills from Alayah Phifer, Calissa Araujo, a block from Mia Esposito, and a service ace from Cianni Baez. 

• Calissa Araujo served three consecutive points as Immaculata closed the PSU Abington's lead to 16-14. 

• Immaculata got to within one point at 19-18 on a kill by Elian Szatkowski. 

• PSU Abington would go on to take set two 25-19. 

• In the third set, Dinah Stabinski five straight points, including three service aces as Immaculata led 11-5. 

• Immaculata grew their lead to 13-6 on a kill by Alayah Phifer and a service ace by Christina Lenzo. 

• PSU Abington would use a four-point run to get back into the set, then a seven-point run as they closed out the match winning set three 25-17. 

Inside the Numbers 

• Alayah Phifer and Mel Mann led Immaculata with five kills each.  

• Calissa Araujo, Eliana Szatkowski, and Mia Esposito all had four kills. 

• Christina Lenzo had 12 assists, and Jenna Bozzo had five assists. 

• Dinah Stabinski had 14 digs and added three service aces. 

• Mia Esposito had two blocks, and Calissa Araujo and Eliana Szatkowski had a shared block.
