LANCASTER, Pa.- The Immaculata University field hockey team shut out Lancaster Bible 4-0 on Friday afternoon, to earn their fourth win of the season.
The Mighty Macs (4-1) dominated the game from the start, out shooting the Chargers (1-4) 18-2, and allowed no shots on goal.
Alexis Andrada scored a pair of goals,
Della George, and
Emilyn Bivens both scored one as the Mighty Macs ran past the Chargers 4-0 for their third straight win. The Mighty Macs continued their program's best start since the 2016 team opened their season 4-1 as well.
How it Happened
- Immaculata wasted little time earning a penalty corner in the games' first minute.
- Abby Fekete inserted the corner, and Alexis Andrada scored her sixth goal of the season on an assist from Della George to give the Mighty Macs a 1-0 lead in the game's second minute.
- The Mighty Macs continued to apply pressure in the first quarter, as Abby Fekete, and Della George each had shots.
- In the ninth minute, the Macs earned another penalty corner.
- Jillian Vandenbraak inserted the corner. Della George scored her second goal of the season to put Immaculata up 2-0. Immaculata would lead 2-0 after one quarter of play.
- In the game's 29th minute Alexis Andrada scored her second goal of the game, to give Immaculata a 3-0 lead going into the halftime break.
- Immaculata lead 11-1 in shots, 7-0 in shots on goal, and 7-0 in penalty corners in the first half of play.
- In the game's 38th minute, Emilyn Bivens scored her first goal of the season to put Immaculata up 4-0. It was Bivens first goal of her collegiate career.
- The Mighty Macs would carry the 4-0 lead into the fourth quarter.
- The fourth quarter Immaculata maintained a 2-1 advantage in shots, and Lancaster Bible had the only penalty corner of the quarter, as the Mighty Macs wrapped up the 4-0 victory.
